Security

• Include your contact information on your carry-on baggage.

• Put liquids, aerosols and gels in containers no larger than 100 ml or 100 g (3.4 oz). Place those containers in a transparent, resealable 1 L bag.

• Pack your medication separately for ease of inspection.

• Avoid carrying heavy metal items or putting them in your carry-on.

• Wear a comfortable coat or jacket that’s easy to remove.

• Avoid having anything prohibited by CATSA on your person or in your baggage.

• Empty or throw out your drinks at the station indicated for this purpose or at the washrooms before going through security. You can refill your bottle at one of the water stations after security.

1. Have your boarding pass and a photo ID on hand.

2. Place all your personal effects in a bin on the conveyor belt, including your belt and coat if you’re wearing one. Remove your bag of liquids and gels from your carry-on, as well as any electronic devices like a laptop.

3. Send your bin and carry-on over to the X-ray machine.

4. Step into the body scanner or pass through the walk-through metal detector, depending on the instructions you’re given.

5. Retrieve your personal effects and make your way to the waiting area, where you can visit the airport’s shops and restaurants.

• You may use the priority line when you enter security if you have a disability, have a NEXUS membership, are an Aeroplan Elite member, are travelling in Business class, or are travelling with children.

• If you have special needs or equipment, please speak with the staff member stationed before security.

• As of October 17, 2018, passengers must follow government guidelines regarding cannabis and foreign travel, as per the Cannabis Act. You can view these guidelines on the Government of Canada website.

• Never make jokes about bombs, guns or other weapons. In certain cases, this is an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada.
