When arriving at YQB from abroad, you must go through Canadian customs before being permitted to enter the country.
Instructions
Go to customs by following the signage after leaving the plane.
Fill out a declaration at a primary inspection kiosk by including all the required information about your trip and what you’re bringing into the country. The machine will print out a receipt—be sure to hold onto it.
Show the receipt to a border services officer, who will examine your declaration receipt, pieces of ID and other travel documents, if needed.
Retrieve your baggage at the carousel.
Hand your declaration form to a border services officer. You may be subject to a secondary search.
Exit the customs area.

Before arriving in Canada, download the ArriveCAN app.

Submit your customs and immigration declaration to the CBSA through the app up to 72 hours prior to arriving in Canada.
If you filled out your declaration more than 24 hours before getting to Canada, you may use the priority line when you reach customs.
Canada Border Services Agency
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is responsible for the customs clearance procedures at the airport, including helping to manage the flow of travellers and trade, and for applying security measures.
The CBSA counter is located in the international flights arrival area at level 1 of the terminal. Here are the opening hours:
December 1 to April 30: Open at all times
May 1 to November 30: 8 a.m. to midnight
Electronic travel authorization (eTA)
If you’re travelling to Canada or going through a Canadian airport, you may need an electronic travel authorization (eTA). An eTA is needed for people arriving from a country that is visa-exempt. Travellers with an American passport or a valid visa do not need an eTA.
